We have a variety of positions available and are offering both full time and part time jobs for the summer (Mid-June through Labor Day Weekend with the possibility of working until Columbus Day Weekend). In addition to working at a fun and busy kayak company you would have access to kayaks, canoes and paddleboards for use with your friends and family.
Please contact Mitch@midcoastkayak.com with a brief description of qualifications for the position being applied for. Here is a description of available positions:
Sea Kayak Guides
Midcoast Kayak conducts the majority of our guided trips from our touring facility on Muscongus Bay. By far, the most popular trips are half day trips, but we also offer full day and overnight trips as well. We are looking for an easy going and self-motivated guide to work part time or full time and are flexible in accommodating your schedule. A Maine Sea Kayak Guide license is required for this position.
Delivery Driver
Midcoast Kayak is constantly moving boats around for our rental, lesson, and touring programs. This position requires a working knowledge of pulling trailers loaded with boats (this can be trained) and a friendly attitude towards interfacing with clients at the drop off points. Drivers use the Midcoast Kayak van to conduct deliveries. This position can also be combined with paid guide training. Staff will work with any candidate that seems to be eager to become a guide with on water time, and off water informal training.
Customer Service
The customer service staff position takes place in our shop in Damariscotta and includes interfacing with clients, guides, and delivery staff in order to provide excellent on water experiences for our clients. Employees in town are responsible for taking reservations, launching kayak trips on the Damariscotta River, loading boats to go on vehicles, and working on a team that strives to create excellent on water activities for a wide range of clients. This job does not include guiding but does provide the opportunity to do so when properly trained.
Positions can be combined for those interested in multiple responsibilities.
